*Correction*

According to the English-Hausa online dictionary... "Han'kuri magani duniya". Thanks to my web-surfing mommy, such a smarty pants!

10...9...8...7...What? 18 hours?

I tried distracting myself today after Chris left for work. First by purchasing mondo cleaning supplies from Sam's with my father-in-law. Dirt and grime don't stand a chance- unless, of course, I overheat. Which is possible. Second, by going to our credit union. The branch manager knows us by name and thanked us for going with them for our mortgage (I guess it also helps the individual branch). That made me smile and warmed my heart a bit. The *Cheers* theme song started to play in my head...."where everybody knows your name..." Third, by inspecting the local hardware store for respirators capable of dealing with potential lead and asbestos. No dice. However, they were have their "Dollar Days" sale - bonus! I picked up sand paper, 5 gal. bucket, leather work gloves, etc for a great deal! I am Dutch after all.

I am impatient once again. Big surprise. I keep hearing dad's voice (imitating the Nigerian accent) imparting wisdom via a Housa saying he used to tell me all the time *Hankuri mahtinga doonya* (guesstimation at spelling). Translation *Patience is the medicine of the world!* I think I'll have to keep telling myself that for the next 18-19 hours. But who's counting?

Patience is not my virtue...today

I am taking a break from packing to scarf down a Jimmy Johns BLT (trying to ignore the golf Chris is watching because the quiet, soothing announcers voices always make me think it's nap time) and I am getting impatient.

I want to be in our house NOW, NOW, NOW! Are we all packed? Not even close. Have we finished priming our bedroom (in the apartment)? Nope. Am I really nervous that we've forgotten to do something really really important that will prevent our closing? Yup. Have we actually forgotten this something? Most likely not...with my control freak type A can't sleep double checking everything all the time attitude.

Thus, I am impatient. Getting the keys to our *new* house is so close but yet so far away. Yes, a bit of the dramatic. Less than 48 hours and it will be OURS! But I guess since 48 hours is not really that long in reality, I better get my booty back in packing mode before my hubby throws the industrial strength plastic wrap (Note* Thanks Emily- best stuff ever AND fun in general) my way.

That house is so darn cute!

So I stopped by the "new" house to get mail that was accidentally sent there already and saw a much anticipated *SOLD* sign on top of the seller's agent's sign in the front yard. It makes me downright giddy! As I drove away pouting that we cannot call it home quite yet, I said to myself aloud "That house is so darn cute!" I've got to admit it's been hard to focus on "therapizing" with the closing now less than a week away. Hopefully, all continues to go well with no major snags and we can close on Tuesday as planned!
